Objects
Cone Penetration Test (CPT) is one of the most widely used in-situ tests. Borebase provides comprehensive CPT data management, automatic calculations, and professional visualization.
Introduction to CPT
The CPT involves pushing an instrumented cone into the ground while measuring cone resistance (qc), sleeve friction (fs), and pore pressure (u2).
GEOTECHNICAL NOTE
CPT testing follows ISO 22476-1:2022. Borebase calculations follow Robertson (1990, 2009) methodology.
Continuous data, no sampling, fast execution, repeatable results, direct parameters.
Creating a CPT Object
From the project's Objects tab, click + Add Object and select CPT.

Select CPT from the object type menu.

Fill in the required information: Object Name is mandatory. Enter other details like coordinates and elevation.

Configure Cone Area Ratio, Cone Factor (Nk), and Unit Weight.

Once configuration is complete, click Create CPT to save the new object.

Your new CPT will appear in the Objects list. Click on it to access it in the workflow.

Click the Open Object button to access the CPT's detailed workspace.

Metadata Tab
The Metadata tab displays and allows editing of the CPT's core information. Click on the Metadata tab to view and manage test details.

Edit the CPT name and other identifying information in the metadata section.

Data Tab
Raw data: z, qc, fs, u2. Calculated: qt, Rf, Qt, Fr, Ic, SBT, N60, Su.

Graphs Tab
Available graphs: Depth vs qc, fs, Rf, u2, qt, N60, Ic.

Stratigraphy Tab
Borebase automatically interprets soil stratigraphy from CPT data using the Ic classification.

Edit stratigraphy layers by specifying depth ranges and soil classifications. Click From to set the top depth of a stratigraphy layer.

CPT Log Tab
The CPT Log tab displays a geological log visualization with depth-indexed CPT data and automatically interpreted stratigraphy.
